An "ASHI" home inspection is an objective examination of the visible and accessible components of a home conducted under the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics of "ASHI". This would include an evaluation of, but not limited to, the following: Roofing and Attic Systems, Exterior Systems, Structural and Framing Systems, Electrical System and Components, Heating/Cooling System and Components, Plumbing Systems and Components, Insulation and Ventilation Systems, Interior Systems and Components.
After the inspection of the home, an easy to read and use inspection report is prepared on-site. The report is then incorporated into a comprehensive 500-plus page "Home Owner's Manual" and presented or delivered to the buyer. Copies are also delivered to the Real Estate Professional.
The purchase of a home is probably the single largest investment you will ever make. In order to minimize unpleasant surprises and difficulties, you should learn as much as you can about the condition of the property and the need for repairs before you buy. Most of the major purchases made in your lifetime will come with an "Owner's Manual" - but your home, which is probably the most expensive and important purchase you make, does not. We provide a free 500-plus page "Home Owner's Manual". This manual has engineered and architecturally correct drawings, charts, graphs, and detailed answers to almost any question about your new home.
While your presence is not required for the inspection, it is highly recommended and encouraged. You will be walked through the home inspection. Special care is taken to answer all questions directly, as you learn about the condition of your new home, how its systems work, and how to maintain it. You will also find the written report easier to understand and use if you've seen the property first-hand through the inspector’s eyes.
